About this policy
This privacy policy explains how RatioRoll, operated by H3llo H3llo Ltd, accesses information on your iPhone. RatioRoll is a professional camera app that records 16:9 and 9:16 video simultaneously from a single take. Recording, preview, monitoring, and saving run on-device.
This policy supplements our main company privacy policy. Where there is any conflict, this app-specific policy takes precedence for RatioRoll users.
What the app accesses on your device
Camera
- RatioRoll uses your iPhone's rear and front cameras to capture video while the app is in the foreground
- Camera frames are processed on-device for live preview, monitoring (LUT, false colour, zebra), and recording
Microphone
- RatioRoll uses your iPhone's microphone to record audio alongside video
- Audio is captured only while you are recording
Photo Library (Add only)
- RatioRoll saves your finished recordings to the iOS Photos library
- The app does not read or browse your existing photos and videos
Files
- Only when you tap "Import LUT" — the iOS file picker opens so you can choose a
.cubecolour grading file - The app reads only the file you explicitly select; it does not browse your file system
What leaves your device
Your recordings do not leave your device. RatioRoll does not upload, transmit, or share your videos, audio, photos, LUT files, or existing Photo Library contents with H3llo H3llo Ltd or any third party.
RatioRoll may send privacy-minimal diagnostic reports to H3llo H3llo Ltd when the app detects a launch, camera, recording, backgrounding, save, crash, or hang issue. These reports help us spot broken releases and fix problems without waiting for a user email.
Diagnostic reports may include app version and build, iOS version, device model, session state, camera mode/settings, error category/message, and limited iOS MetricKit crash or hang metadata when available. They do not include videos, audio, photos, LUT files, file names, location, contacts, Apple ID, payment details, or advertising identifiers.
Reports are sent over HTTPS to H3llo H3llo Ltd's first-party diagnostic endpoint and are used only to investigate, fix, and monitor RatioRoll reliability.
What we don't collect
- No analytics SDKs. No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase Analytics, or similar.
- No advertising or tracking SDKs. No IDFA (Apple's Advertising Identifier).
- No third-party diagnostics SDKs. We do not send diagnostic data to Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, or similar providers.
- No recordings or media. We do not collect your videos, audio, photos, LUT files, or Photo Library contents.
- No accounts, no logins, no email addresses. RatioRoll has no sign-up flow.
Pricing and purchases
The current App Store release of RatioRoll is free to download and use. It has no active account, subscription, in-app purchase gate, or recording quota.
If we introduce paid features in a future release, purchase, restore, refund, and receipt handling will be shown in the app and handled through Apple's App Store systems. Apple handles that data under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics
Automatic diagnostics are limited to technical reliability signals. They are designed to tell us what failed, not what you recorded.
If you choose to share additional recording diagnostics with us from Settings, the report contains only the technical configuration of the recording attempt: capture mode, resolution, frame rate, colour space, and which lenses were used. It contains no video, audio, location data, file names, or personal information. Manual sharing is always initiated by you.
If you opt in to send anonymous crash reports to Apple via TestFlight or iOS, those reports are governed by Apple's privacy practices.
How we protect your data
Because recordings remain local, the iOS sandbox and your Photos privacy settings protect your videos. Diagnostic reports are sent over HTTPS and access is limited to H3llo H3llo Ltd for support and debugging.
Children
RatioRoll is rated 4+. The app has no accounts, advertising, or tracking. The technical diagnostics described above do not include recordings or identifiers for advertising.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection. Because we do not hold your recordings or account data, exercising most of these rights is straightforward:
- Access / portability: all your recordings are in your iOS Photos library — open Photos to view, share, or export.
- Erasure: delete the app from your iPhone to remove local app data, and delete saved recordings from Photos if you no longer want them there.
- Diagnostics: email us at darius@h3lloh3llo.co.uk if you want to ask about diagnostic reports or request deletion of reports associated with information you can provide.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
