How it works

From the spin to the guest's phone in five steps

The same loop runs for every guest. Set it up before the doors open and the night becomes: record, replay, hand over, next.

Create the event

Add an event with a name and location. Each event keeps its own booth settings, branding, processed gallery, delivery account and remote pairing. Confirm the selected event before recording.

A readiness check confirms the camera, storage, battery and event settings before you record.

Choose the look and length

Pick a playback mode and how long the camera should record. The camera stops automatically at that length; the finished clip can be longer or shorter depending on the mode.

Record each guest

Start with a tap, a countdown or motion on the booth iPhone, or run it from a second iPhone. Pair the two with a four-digit code; both need to be on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot.

Start the platform with its own controls. SnapCircle runs the camera; it doesn't control the motor.

Process and brand, on the phone

The clip is processed on the iPhone itself, so you can leave the setup screen while the queue works. If processing is interrupted, retained raw recordings can be queued again when you open that event. Check the finished file and any Photos copy before clearing the event.

Hand it over

Send it straight away by AirDrop or the share sheet. For a QR code, choose Dropbox or Google Drive for the event. Once the finished clip has uploaded and the provider has created a public link, SnapCircle shows a QR code the guest can open on Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Playback modes

Six playback modes, and how long each clip ends up

Your raw length sets how long the camera records. The mode changes the speed, so the finished clip can be longer or shorter. Move the slider to see roughly how long each finished clip will be.

Lines show playback speed across the recording; the dotted line is real time. Lengths are approximate, calculated from the speed each mode applies to equal sections of the raw recording.

What's in the app

Your branding on every clip

Add a transparent PNG overlay for full-frame borders and a transparent PNG logo for the top-right corner. JPEGs and fully opaque PNGs are rejected, so a graphic can't cover the video. The event name isn't burned in.

Three cameras, up to 4K

Record with the 0.5× wide, back or front camera at 720p, 1080p or 4K where your iPhone supports it.

Hands-free triggers

Start each recording manually, after a countdown, or when motion is detected. Motion works best with the phone held still and the subject in decent light.

Second-iPhone remote

Pair a second iPhone with a four-digit code over shared Wi-Fi or a hotspot. Start and stop recording, request the host's share sheet and show the guest QR without touching the mounted phone.

Separate copies in Photos

The app attempts to save raw and finished clips to Photos. Permission or storage problems can prevent a save. Open and check those copies before deleting originals; a cloud upload is a separate step.

A gallery for each event

Finished clips are kept per event. Play, share, save, rename or delete them. Deleting from the app doesn't remove copies already in Photos or your cloud account.

Before your first event

Check the complete handover with your own kit

A recording is only one part of the job. Run this rehearsal with the iPhone, artwork, cloud account and connection you plan to use, so you can find a missing step before guests arrive.

Capture and keep

Record one test clip. Choose the event, camera, raw duration and effect. Play the finished clip and check the framing, logo and overlay rather than relying on the setup preview.
Open the separate copies. Find and play the raw and processed clips in Photos. Resolve any permission, save or storage warning; do not assume a successful export means both copies exist.

Prepare a transparent PNG overlay

Deliver and repeat

Use a guest's view. After upload and public-link creation, scan the QR on another phone using its own connection. Confirm it can open and save the intended clip without your cloud-account login.
Rehearse a connection problem. Check local playback and your chosen alternative handover, such as AirDrop to a compatible nearby device. Restore internet and verify cloud delivery before promising it to guests.

Questions operators ask

Is SnapCircle 360 free?

It's free to download. After onboarding you need an active SnapCircle Pro subscription: £7.99 a week, £14.99 a month, £24.99 a quarter or £89.99 a year on the UK App Store. There's no free tier.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Any iPhone running iOS 18.5 or later. The cameras available (0.5× wide, back, front) and 4K recording depend on your model. There's no Android version.

Does SnapCircle control my 360 platform?

No. Your platform, arm and lights are separate hardware, and you start the spin with the platform's own controls. SnapCircle runs the iPhone: recording, processing, branding and delivery.

How do guests get their video?

You can send it straight away by AirDrop or the iOS share sheet. For a QR code, choose Dropbox or Google Drive for the event. Once the finished clip uploads and the provider creates a public link, SnapCircle shows a QR code. The guest opens it in their phone's browser; they don't need an app or the booth's Wi-Fi. Do I need internet at the venue?

Recording, processing, AirDrop and Save to Photos work without internet. QR delivery needs an internet connection on the booth iPhone while each clip uploads: venue Wi-Fi, mobile data or a hotspot. Guests use their own connection to open the link.

Who can open a guest QR link?

Anyone who has the link. It's a public link created by your Dropbox or Google Drive account, so tell your client how clips are shared. Clips are stored in a "SnapCircle 360" folder for each event in your account, where you can change sharing or delete them later.

How long is each clip?

You choose a raw recording length from 5 to 30 seconds. The finished clip is longer or shorter depending on the playback mode. Slow Spotlight, for example, roughly doubles it. See the length calculator.

Can I add my client's logo and event branding?

Yes. Upload a transparent PNG overlay for a full-frame design and a transparent PNG logo, placed top-right. JPEGs and fully opaque PNGs are rejected. The event name isn't added automatically, so design it into the overlay if you want it on the clip.

Can I run the booth from a second iPhone?

Yes. Pair it with the booth iPhone using a four-digit code. Both phones need to be on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot with Local Network access allowed; pairing doesn't need internet. The remote can start and stop recording, request the host's share sheet and show the guest QR.

What happens if an upload fails?

An upload failure does not itself delete the processed clip from the event gallery. Check that it plays locally, restore your internet connection and check the selected cloud account before retrying delivery. Photos saves can fail, so verify a separate copy before deleting anything. Guests can only use a cloud QR link after the upload and public-link creation succeed. Follow the delivery checks.
